In March 2024, the Swette Center hosted an informative panel discussion with working professionals Kiesha Tatem from USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, Jacob DeFant from the Agricultural Council of California, Mary Rochelle from the Guckenheimer at Google Food program, and Kaysey England from the City of Phoenix.

Coming from diverse backgrounds spanning private, non-profit, and government sectors, they shared valuable insights and perspectives on navigating fulfilling career paths within the field of sustainable food systems.

Food Systems Career Panel, Spring 2024

In a world grappling with a multitude of crises, the future of global agriculture has emerged as a focal point for critical questions and decisive action. As nations face the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, food security, and economic resilience, it has become imperative to address the pressing issues that will shape the future of agriculture.

In October 2023 at the ASU DC campus, we hosted a thought-provoking event that sought to identify these critical questions, providing valuable insights to inform the construction of the next US farm bill. Throughout the event, we heard from thought leaders, policy influencers, and experts from diverse backgrounds.
