Climate and Resilience Workgroup
Climate and resilience planning in Arizona is critical in the face of mounting environmental challenges. Arizona’s cities, towns, and Tribal communities play a central role in mitigating the effects of climate change. The Climate and Resilience Workgroup supports Arizona communities in their climate action and resilience efforts, from those with a deep practice of climate action to those just starting to work on reducing carbon emissions and adapting to climate change. Workgroup activities include support in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventories, vulnerability assessments, climate action plans, municipal decarbonization, resilience planning, and mainstreaming sustainability and resilience using General Plans and County All Hazards Mitigations Plans.
Workgroup purpose
The Climate and Resilience Workgroup meets to educate cities and towns on climate action planning, resilience, and adaptation and mitigation strategies.
