Convening sustainability professionals

The Network offers valuable learning opportunities for sustainability professionals by organizing regional gatherings and specialized training sessions. These events facilitate knowledge sharing, skill development, and collaboration among experts in the field. By participating in these gatherings, professionals can stay updated on the latest trends, best practices, and innovative solutions in sustainability.

2022 Regional Infrastructure Exchange

These events focus on addressing regional infrastructure challenges through innovative and sustainable solutions. Participants engage in dynamic discussions, workshops, and case study analyses to explore best practices and emerging trends. Regional Tree and Shade Summits

Urban forestry is critical for providing access to nature and ecosystem services to the dense living populations within Arizona’s urban areas. A well-established urban forest provides clean air, wildlife habitat, and cooling effects while promoting a sense of place and community in an area. Maintaining a cohesive urban forest enhances a community, more fully integrating it into nature. In 2009 and 2016, Arizona State University’s Sustainable Cities Network hosted the Regional Tree and Shade Summit to provide public, private, and nonprofit organizations with the tools, strategies, and best practices for urban forestry management in the arid southwest.
