Aging water infrastructure, coupled with the threat of emerging contaminants like PFAS, directly affects the safety and quality of water for human use. Investing in robust and well-maintained infrastructure, innovative treatment technologies and supportive ‘soft’ infrastructure (e.g., institutions and governance systems) is essential for ensuring safe and clean water for communities and protecting public health and the environment.
