Once known as the \u201cVegetable Center of the World,\u201d the City of Tolleson has evolved into a major industrial and distribution hub, boasting over 20 Fortune 500 companies and one of the highest job-to-resident ratios in the nation. Strategically located near I-10, Loop 101, and rail connections, Tolleson serves as an arterial hub that supports economic growth with a close-knit community atmosphere. Tolleson has a strong sense of community, where generations of families have lived and worked. A team of Master of Urban and Environmental Planning (MUEP) Planning Workshop students collaborated with the City of Tolleson staff, leadership, and community members through the ASU Project Cities program to explore best practices to plan for aging in place to inform a supplemental General Plan chapter focused on implementing recommended strategies throughout the City, then and into the future.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
