Symposium on Transitioning to a Net-Zero Chemicals and Materials Industry

February 19-21, 2025

Arizona State University

A large number of nations, cooperations and universities are working toward decreasing greenhouse gas and plastic waste, with a goal of achieving net-zero emissions within the next few decades.

Reaching these goals in a manner that is economically feasible, socially desirable and ecologically viable is both a formidable challenge and an attractive opportunity for research and development.

This symposium will bring together key researchers and stakeholders from academia, industry and government to provide intellectually stimulating and forward-looking insights on efforts and challenges in addressing this important net-zero emissions goal. The focus of this symposium will be on the chemicals and materials industry, with emphasis on three main themes: electrification, circularity and integrative approaches. Each day will include keynote and plenary talks by leaders in each theme followed by a panel discussion.
