About the Humanities for the Environment <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Humanities for the Environment Global Network<\/a>  includes eight humanities \u201cObservatories\u201d on five continents that network over 39 universities worldwide. The observatories work regionally and collaboratively to mobilize the arts and humanities, address social and environmental challenges in civil society, academic life and in the ecosystems that support all life. They promote social and environmental justice, build capacity for global and regional sustainable transformations and engage in humanities-inclusive research and action to deliver the SDGs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Humanities for the Environment recognizes that historical models, cross-cultural comparisons and images of plausible futures, which often take the form of stories, can powerfully transform social values, recalibrate understanding of foundational principles of justice and sustainability and rewrite inaccurate narratives about human relationships to and interdependencies with ecosystems and nonhuman species.<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n
