Global Teach-In

On March 30, 2022, Arizona State University will join schools and universities around the world in a global teach-in focused on climate justice (https://gps.bard.edu/world-wide-teach-in). ASU students are organizing to lead 30 minute educational activities and Iveta Silova (Mary Lou Fulton College)

Are you passionate about teaching, climate action, and sustainability, and looking to get more involved with the student community? There is a Global Teach-In happening across universities globally to create awareness about the climate crisis we are living in and the importance of creating just and equitable solutions to this crisis. Arizona State University will be participating in the Teach-In with their Teach-In being called  “Turn it Around ASU: Global Teach-in for Climate Justice.” Organized in partnership with Changemaker Central, this Teach-In will take place on Monday, March 30, 2022. Student instructors will be holding 30-minute takeovers of classrooms along the course of the day and will lead educational activities on climate change. The day will end with a Climate March at Arizona State University, organized by Defend Our Future. The Climate March will start at 6:00 p.m. Our sign up form will share more updates about the March and the Teach-In.

Saturday, December 18

Our friends at Az(Land) are working to co-create environmentally and racially just futures for our underserved and underfunded communities of color. They focus on urban green spaces, the heat island impact, systemic racism and environmental inequalities among other important topics. 

You are welcome to join on Saturday, December 18th from 12:00pm-5:00pm.  They will have vendors, food trucks, folklorico, and Drag performances centering Environmental Justice, and integrating aspects of our green space project into the event. This includes activities for youth and community in attendance focused on future building, connecting to community history, telling our stories, and desert ecology benefits.
