About the CAP LTER data portal

National Science Foundation-funded projects, such as the CAP LTER, are expected to make as much research data as possible publicly available. The CAP LTER project adheres to the LTER data access policies, and aims to publish all research data unless limited by privacy or license restrictions.

Our commitment to data access includes the provision of rich metadata to maximize the interoperability and reusability of CAP LTER data.

Our data portal allows you to browse or conduct a keyword search for CAP LTER data packages in the Environmental Data Initiative data repository. Clicking on the title of a returned dataset will take you to the full record of that dataset in the EDI data portal where you can review the dataset abstract, geographical information, and other metadata; download datasets and associated metadata; and generate code to access datasets in Python, R, and other languages.
